Borongan City Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan Agda has been named 5th among top performing city mayors in the Eastern Visayas Region, according to a survey by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc (RPMD).
From March 15 to 21, 2022, RPMD conducted a nationwide performance assessment survey for all mayors, governors, and members of the House of Representatives to evaluate their overall performance.
Mayor Jose Dayan Agda ranked 5th with a job performance rating of 67.2 percent. He was the sole local chief executive from Eastern Samar province in the top 5.
Topping the list is Maasin City Mayor Nacional V. Mercado of Southern Leyte with a 92.5% job performance rating. Calbayog City Mayor Diego P. Rivera of Samar province placed second with 87.1% while Mayor Richard Gomez of Ormoc City came third at 85.3%. Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez came fourth with 68.4%.
“This recognition is indeed an inspiration for public servants like myself. But really, we are just doing our job to serve the people of our city,” Mayor Agda said.
The survey focused on job performance including supervising and implementing all LGU policies, programs, projects, and services, revenue generation. It included utilizing resources and revenues to implement plans.
“Those who placed first in their respective provinces should be recognized and commended for their efforts, according to Dr. Paul Martinez, the RPMD’s Executive Director.
