PDRF TURNS OVER COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT TO LGU BORONGAN FOR IMPROVED DISASTER RESPONSE

The Philippine Disaster Foundation (PDRF) on Wednesday turned over high quality communications equipment to the City Government of Borongan as part of its mission of empowering cities in managing disaster impacts.

A satellite internet connection and a GIS workstation, among others, were received by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office during the turnover. Said equipment will be used by the CDRRMO for its Emergency Operations Center in line with the city’s efforts to enhance its disaster response mechanism.

Present during the turnover were CRC Borongan City Coordinator Joseph McDonough, Anna Katrina Aspuria of CRC-PDRF, CENRO head For. Jojito Acla as Mayor Dayan Agda’s representative, Committee on Disaster Management Chair Councilor Frich Uy, Councilor Victor Franco and CDRRMO representative Aldrin Abunda.

Last July, a deed of donation signing between PDRF and the City Government was also done for the radio repeater systems that were given to the barangays Benowangan, San Andres, and San Gabriel.
