Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan C. Agda visited Barangay Maypangdan and Barangay Sta. Fe earlier today to personally inspect the construction sites of the COVID-19 isolation facilities in these localities.
As mentioned in previous reports, these facilities along with that of Barangays Campesao, San Jose, and Benowangan are among the isolation facilities that the City Government of Borongan is constructing to accommodate its returning residents.
“At least it aton siyudad, andam. Mayda facilities nga magagamit para hit aton mga LSIs, OFWs ngan APORs,” said Mayor Agda when asked about reports that the Department of Education may soon pull the plug on the city’s use of its schools as isolation facilities.
“Ini nga aton investment hiton siyudad ha aton mga facilities didi ha kabarangyan sugad ha Sta. Fe ngan Maypangdan, karuyag ta kitaon firsthand kun ano it real situation,” was how Mayor Agda described his visits today.
Hinting on his preference for being hands on, Mayor Agda added, “Nadiri kasi ak hit nga ha picture la ak kikita tas pagsisinumatan la ak. Karuyag ko nga maassess ko mismo kun san-o mahuhuman. Aton ginlalauman nga before September 15, matuturn-over ini nga mga facilities ha city government.”
The Sta. Fe and Maypangdan facilities each feature 14 rooms and 4 restrooms and will be used for Person Under Monitoring (PUM) individuals. As with all isolation facilities that the city is currently constructing, these two projects were charged to the Bayanihan Grant to Cities and Municipalities (BGCM) downloaded from the national government last April 2020. The project cost for the facility in Sta. Fe is P5,988,515.06 and P5,994,836.54 for Maypangdan.
“Later on after COVID, it aton hin tuyo magin primary healthcare facilities ini nga mga isolation facilities nga kun diin capable nga magaadmit hira hin mga pasyente,” said Mayor Agda after wrapping up his visits to the two northern barangays.
