“It tawo uhaw na hin serbisyo tikang hit iya gobyerno. Asya it aton angay ipakita, ipaabat ha mga tawo hit Borongan… Umabat naman la hira nga may gobyerno nga nahigugma ha ira, diri la niyan hihigugmaa ngin mageeleksyon.”, was how Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan C. Agda challenged the 27 enumerators at the conclusion of their training for the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), Accelerated Poverty Profiling (APP).
The CBMS-APP aims to gather data from poor families in barangays to help the city government make data-driven decisions in coming up with policies, rolling out its social programs and strengthen its intervention capabilities in areas of livelihood, health, education among others.
Mayor Agda stressed the importance of the role the enumerators will play in this effort, “Gidadakui it iyo mahibubulig ha aton, tungod nga it iyo makukuha nga datos, makikita naton kun ano nga klase hin intervention it at bubuhaton.”
Agda further remarked that if the enumerators succeed and do a great job, there is a high chance that they will be absorbed as permanent employees of the city government, much to the applause of the newly-minted enumerators themselves.
Shortly before administering their CBMS Enumerator Commitment Pledge, Mayor Agda wished them well and shared a fe
w tips when doing their field work, “Upaya niyo, magin diplomatic kamo ngan magin marespetuhon kamo didto ha mga barangay. See to it you have your IDs, facemasks ngan pagpractice hin social distancing. Naglalaum ak ha iyo nga magiging successful ini nga iyo pagkuha hini nga mga data ha mga kabarangayan.”
