Mayor Agda Swears in Kayak Camada Organization Officers as Borongan re-opens Tourist sites

Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan C. Agda recently led the oath taking of the officers of the Kayak Camada Organization who will take charge of the re-opening and development of Kayak Camada in close partnership and coordination with the City Government of Borongan through the City Tourism Office.

Mayor Agda expressed high hopes for the group and site’s potential to be a top destination of the city when he said, “Mauupay ta in pero dapat maging transparent it pagmaneho hin nga iyo organization. Sigurado ak nga in dinhi, maasenso talaga in kay una, giupayi talaga in nga location ngan dinhi ha Camada, asya talaga in an magigin sentro hit mga western upland barangays.”

Mayor Agda happily announced that the city government will aid Kayak Camada by re-painting the existing infrastructure, prepare a parking area for would-be visitors, and purchase kayaks and turn them over to the people’s organization.

Tourism-Open2“We are not only selling the place but it aton kultura, it aton maupay nga mga pamatasan,” was how Ms. Marissa Josephine Acorin, OIC-City Tourism Office, reminded the Kayak Camada officers and other tourism stakeholders present as the city re-opens its sites and destinations.

Acorin went on to call for stronger legislative support for tourism management and development and also called on the business sector to properly secure their permits when venturing into the business of tourism.

SPM Kurt Ryan Ty, SP Chairman on Tourism, Culture & Arts, said, “It promotion niyo as officers, usa ini hiya nga expression hit pagtapod hit City Government of Borongan para i-remind kamo nga himuon niyo nga mag maupay it iyo tagsa-tagsa nga mga trabaho komo usa nga officer hit iyo organization.”

Also present in the event are Vice Mayor Emman Tiu Sonco, SPM Atty. Kathlyn Cainday, SPM Glaiza Tiu, SPM Zen Daza, SPM Lanie Anacta, and SPM Renerio Ador.

As of September 16, 2020, the city government through Executive Order No. JIDCA-013-0920, re-opened all tourist sites and destinations in Borongan City following its low risk status for COVID-19.
