The Fluvial Parade has gracefully drawn to a close, making way for the much-anticipated Padul-ong Festival Parade today, September 7, 2023. Government officials, competitors of the Padul-ong Festival, and esteemed representatives of the Knights of Columbus are participating in this procession.
With their vibrant outfits more than enough to satisfy the eye, the schools perform their Padul-ong Festival Dance with grace to showcase their artistic. For this year, three schools are slated to compete in the Padul-ong Festival Competition: Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School, Maypangdan National High School, and Sta. Fe National High School.
This year’s champion will receive a grand prize of 300,000 pesos. The 2nd Place recipient will receive 250,000 pesos, while the 3rd Placer will receive 200,000 pesos. The competitors are also vying for the prestigious title of the Festival Queen.
At the forefront of the parade are the ROTC officers, bearing flags, followed by the procession featuring the image of the patroness of Borongan City, Nuestra Senora de Borongan, accompanied by the esteemed members of the Knights of Columbus, a convoy of government officials, and the Dance Parade, starting with Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School, followed by Sta. Fe National High School and Maypangdan National High School.
The parade will proceed along a designated route, culminating at the city cultural plaza, where the highly anticipated Padul-ong Festival Dance Ritual Competition competition is set to unfold.
