“Siring pa man, education is a continuous process, salit ayaw kamu kaanu-anu ngin mayda susugaron ha iyo nga mag re-tooling, kay para man it ha iyo, basi kamo makaka-baton hin haom nga serbisyo hit at mga tawo,” once said City Mayor Dayan Agda to a group of LGU advocates.

(It is said that education is a continuous process, so, may you’ll not feel slighted when you are told to retool because it is for you, that you may be able to deliver updated knowledge or information for an efficient, updated and quality public service.)

In preparation for the opening and operation of Borongan City Infirmary, a group of professional health workers, composed of doctors, nurses and other staff were recently sent to San Lazaro Hospital, Rizal Medical Center and St. Luke’s Hospital in Manila to enrich their knowledge and skills from the three renowned hospitals of the country.

Their visit covered the areas of Out-Patient Department (OPD), Emergency Room (ER), Ward, Pharmacy, Laboratory and Physical Therapy Rehabilitation.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support training (ACLS) was also attended at St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Chief of Hospital, Dr. Raul Villanueva said, that the soon to open 30-bed capacity City Infirmary, is designed to be one if not the best operated infirmary in the country, as the City LGU under City Mayor Dayan Agda moves towards that direction.

“There are two existing hospitals in the City, and the City’s Infirmary is bent to complement the two other hospitals and shall pursue to achieve its own niche of health service delivery,” Dr. Villanueva stressed. | via Alicia Nicart
