BORONGAN CITY MARKS ITS 15TH CITYHOOD

Borongan City celebrates its fifteenth Charter Day, since it was officially declared as a component city by the ratification of Republic Act 9394 on June 20, 2007.

The City Government of Borongan, headed by City Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan Agda, together with City Vice Mayor Emmanuel Tiu Sonco, and the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, held this year’s Pasidungog with a white-themed Beach Party for employees of LGU Borongan, at the Borongan Bay, Monday, June 20.

The program commenced with a grand entrance of all LGU employees, flaunting their all-white attire, looking glamorous and stunning.

Vice Mayor Tiu Sonco said a few words in his welcome address and commended the new venue of the event that undeniably looked ravishing because of Baybay Boulevard’s natural beauty and the different decorations aesthetically assembled.

Certificates of Recognition were given to the retirees, loyalty, special awardees, top employees, and departments who showed exemplary public service.

“Hinaot unta nga ig-continue naton it pag-trabaho hin maupay ngan ungod ungod, diri kay sinusugo kita, kundi dara kay karuyag naton it aton ginta-trabaho as public servants,” Mayor Agda said during his State of the City Address.

Through the efforts of the City Tourism Office and City Human Resource and Management Office, the 15th Charter Day celebration became a momentous occasion for the lives of all dedicated public servants of LGU Borongan.

Indeed, the persistence of all Boronganons and the elbow grease of our public servants were the significant factors that catapulted Borongan City to where it is today.
