BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar, September 14, 2020 – In order to respond promptly to evolving issues and concerns relative to COVID-19 response, the City Government has recently created the Public Health and Safety Task Force (PHSTF).
As implementing arm of the COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force of the Borongan City, the PHSTF will complement, supplement activities of the IATF in order to immediately respond to urgent calls and needs relative to the health emergency.
As one of his proactive steps, to combat COVID19, City Mayor Dayan Agda formed the PHSTF and designated Attorney Romeo Alexis Devora of the Legal Office, as Chairman of the special health task force with Reginald James Lorico as his Vice Chairman.
In a radio interview, Atty. Devora said he is happy to note that Mayor Agda has created the PHSTF and has put confidence in each of the designated official, because he believes in their capability which will strengthen the current COVID response and existing protocols.
“It can be noted that so far, I can personally say that Borongan city is still COVID-free, and this is attributed to the prompt and efficient implementation of health protocols of personnel involved, under the mandate and supervision of Mayor Agda, who is vigorous in his actions to maintain the health and wellness of his people.” Atty. Devora said.
“Another thing that is noticeably effective in maintaining a COVID-free city, is each personnel’s sincerest concern to execute each of their functions without having to think that someone is overshadowing who. Walang kompetensiyahan, we cooperate and coordinate our moves,” the young lawyer added.
The well experienced Dr. Raul Villanueva is assigned as Border Control Czar, who scrutinizes each entry of people coming to the City. He supervises the conduct of the Triage, assesses and determines the health status of each individual passing through.
Dr. Bernadette Galacan supervises the needs in the City’s designated Health Isolation Facilities.
Lawyer and medical doctor John Kelly Cainday, is noted for his efficient Contact Tracing, he accounts all possible contacts of positive cases, advices, assesses exposure levels, who is a low-risk and high risk contact, and recommends to limit exposure in order to prevent from any risk of the entire Borongan community.
Hans Noel Basada and Rodrigo Duzon are assigned as Operations Monitoring Heads who, together with Cheyney Ibarbia, Business Establishment Compliance Head, oversee the compliance of business establishment to minimum health protocols. Meanwhile, Jojito Acla is assigned as Logistics Head in charge of supplies and coordination of resources needed to support the overall operations of city’s front line team. #
