The Department of Education (DepEd) Borongan City Division recognized the contributions of its stakeholders through an appreciation program at the Lalawigan Central Elementary School last Friday, Dec. 15.
The provincial and city government, city offices, member agencies, non-government organizations, private and cooperative partners, media, barangay officials, and parent-teacher associations were among those who were honored in the event.
“You play a vital role to ensure the success and sustainability of our projects. Without your active involvement, our schools may struggle to meet its goals and fail to adapt to the dynamic environment we are operating in. Today, we are here to honor you. We are here to express our utmost thanks and recognize your value in our daily operations for without it, it would be very difficult on our part to thrive in this ever evolving, competitive world,” said schools division superintendent-officer-in-charge Edgar Tenasas.
Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan Agda expressed his gratitude for the recognition, saying that it will serve as a motivation for him and his fellow awardees to improve as well as encourage others to participate in the different activities of the DepEd.
“Ini na iyo recognition na ginhatag, magsisirbi hiya nga maupay nga motivation ha amon nga mga awardees at iba pa nga mag-shape up. Makaka-encourage in nga iba nga Boronganon na mag-participate ngatanan hin aktibidades it iyo department,” said Agda, who was joined by wife, Dr. Rowena Agda, in the event.
Agda led the city government officials who were recognized which also included Vice Mayor Emman Tiu Sonco and councilors Victor Franco, Ma. Rozene Daza, Frich Uy, Anna Katrina Sadac, Jay Anthony Ang, Melcho Arago, Glaiza Tiu, Sergio Escoto III, Lyra Limbauan-Devora and Kathlyn Cainday.
Eastern Samar Rep. Maria Fe Abunda, Gov. Ben Evardone and provincial board members Philip Evardone, Jr., Byron Suyot and Estanislao Quelitano, Jr. were likewise honored.
Also given a token of appreciation were Rupert Ambil (City Information Office), Engr. Jaime Voces (City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office), Verina Amoyo (City Social Work and Development Office), Napoleon Bebita (City Traffic Division), Mark Cortado (City Population and Development Office), PLt. Col. Dexter Astacaan (Philippine National Police), FInsp. Benito Elona (Bureau of Fire Protection), Ronnie Bajado (Philippine Statistics Authority), Ricardo Galupe (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration), Ruthelma Samonte (Department of Trade and Industry), Engr. Alvin Ignacio (Department of Public Works and Highways) and Lorna Abella (Land Transportation Office).
Others who were feted are the City Savings Bank, Banco de Oro, Eastwest Rural Bank, First Consolidated Bank, Manila Teachers, McDonald’s, Puregold, J&F Department Store, Paula Medical Supply and Trading, Eastern Samar Electric Cooperative Inc., Center for Empowerment and Development in Eastern Visayas, Inc., DYES-Radyo ng Bayan, and Philippine Information Agency.
Stakeholders of the five districts of the city division, including Dr. Rowena Agda for District V’s Benowangan National High School, were likewise lauded.
Also present in the event were Dr. Josemilo Ruiz, assistant schools division superintendent-officer-in-charge, Dr. Lea Aberia, curriculum implementation division chief, and administrative officer Gilberto Gapud.
