Residents of Borongan City took their creativity to the skies!
As one of the highlights of the 15th Charter Month Celebration, kids and kids-at-heart participated in the first-ever Kite Festival on June 11-12 in Baybay Boulevard.
After completing the basic and advanced kite making workshop, participants simultaneously flew their kites in the skies of Borongan City. Kites embedded with the colors of the Philippine Flag filled the Baybay Beach in observance of the Independence Day commemoration, on Sunday, June 12.
Paro-Paro G team won the best-designed kite and Marjore Dadia, a student in ESSU Main, won the Highest Flying Kite award.
Certificates of Appreciation were also given to everyone who joined the event.
“On behalf of the City Government of Borongan, we are beyond grateful for the expertise shared with us by Mr. Jonathan Josol, Mr. Crispulo Rosales, and Mr. James Dingco of the Kites Association of the Philippines (KAP), and also to the local organization Sierra Falcones for the great help during the two-day kite workshop,” said Rupert Ambil II, Charter Month Celebration Chairman.
Ambil added: “To everyone who actively participated in the 2-day workshop, you all have been wonderful participants. Your creativity is inspiring! We hope to see you again at the next Kite Festival!”
