BORONGAN MARKS SECOND DAY OF DRIVE-THRU VACCINATION

Being the first ever local government unit in the region to have implemented the Drive-Thru Vaccination Site, Borongan City marked the second day yesterday of a unique inoculaton approach, which many senior citizens found it to be most convenient.

Beforehand, it was made clear to the public, that Drive-Thru does not necessarily mean, patients have to take four-wheel vehicles in order to pass through the designated stretch leading toward the vaccinators’ table.

“They can take a tricycle, a single motorcycle, a bicycle or cars,” Dr. Raul Villanueva explained.
Mr. Bernardo Palada, 74 of Barangay Canjaway is all praises to the City Government, under the able leadership of Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan C. Agda.

That he has now received his 1st dose of COVID-19 Vaccine, just from his own-driven tricycle, Palada said, he is now half confident that he will not get a serious infection of the deadly virus.

“And soon, after my second dose, perhaps I can already take off my face mask, whenever I plant a kiss on my grandchildren’s head,” the DepEd retiree confessed.

Retired businesswoman, Mrs. Adelaida Uy, came with her brother and sister-in law. It was learned that the famous Mana Deling to her former customers, preferred the Sinovac vaccine as recommended by her doctor.

The Borongan Drive-Thru Vaccination has landed recently the news program of a giant television network for the City LGU’s bold step to cover a large percentage of inoculated individuals.

Today, as in the first day of the Drive-Thru Vaccination, apart from the Walk-Through, of individuals who sitted in a parallel queue, was again a success.

City physician, Dr. Raul Villanueva shared that yesterday, 100 Sinovac were consumed, 80 Astrazeneca, and there was no wastage whatsoever.

In the previous day, it was recorded that 270 individuals were vaccinated.

During his visit today to the site in Baybay Boulevard, Mayor Agda thanked the City Health Officials, DepEd staff and other volunteers for their untiring support to the City’s COVID-19 response.

No less than the City’s First Lady, Dr. Rowena L. Agda, shared her medical expertise in that one of a kind voluntary work.

Dr. Katrina Anacta-Sadac, SP Health Committee Chair man, spent likewise her 2nd day in the Baybay vaccination site, ably performing voluntary work. #
