The Two Hundred Fifthy pesos monthly (P250.00) allowance of our elderly Boronganons could possibly increase to Five Hundred pesos (P500.00) next year.
So said City Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan C. Agda during the recently held Pulong-Pulong in Barangay San Saturnino.
Mayor Agda said, that the allowance, despite the humble amount can provide the olds certain joy.
“As much as possible, let us give our senior citizens small things to celebrate with. I believe that whenever the pay out is done, the few crispy bills in their hands give them a secret leap and energy,” the Mayor quipped.
The tale of the City’s Chief Executive was welcomed with a resounding applause of his audience, many of whom were senior citizens from Balacdas, Tacyang and Guintaguican.
More applause dominated the air, when Mayor Agda announced that the Free-Ride for senior citizens and students will resume next year.
“We willingly stopped it because of the COVID-19 pandemic, as we intend to prevent our citizens from being contracted with the virus if they would be taking trips everyday, here and there,” he said. “But it will resume operation next year, malooy an Diyos, mayda ta naman vaccine,” he assured.
In the same barangay forum, Mayor Agda also assured them of the much needed water supply in the northern barangays, which he assured will soon be available.
“Pag-lirininya nala hit tubo, tika ha Amantacop ngadto ha Bugas, kay gin poproybahan ta kun makatukad it kakusog hit tubig ha Sta.Fe. Diri ngani maka tukad, ig uukad it tubo patatahuson ngadto ha luyo hit bukid basi maka diretso ha Bugas,” Mayor Agda explained.
The city chief executive is fully aware on the distressing condition of water source in northern barangays, that during dry seasons, they would be supplied with truckloads of water in plastic containers. #
