City Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan Agda shared recently, to DILG USEC Jonathan Malaya and DZMM’s Jay Ruiz to a large number of TV viewers and social media followers the city government’s COVID-19 vaccination program, as he spoke over DZMM Teleradyo’s “Kuwentong Local”.
Mayor Agda said that before the vaccine arrives Borongan, the city government has already ensured certain preparations including manpower which will involve doctors, and other professional health workers.
“We have identified also 10 vaccination sites with three teams, each with a physician,” he stressed, “as we target to inoculate about 3,000 Boronganons a day in ten days, in order to cover the target 56K residents from the total population of about 75K”, he added.
TV anchor Jay Ruiz asked about the planned strategy on how to profile all of the targeted population and Mayor Agda quickly replied, “house-to-house approach” especially on people with comorbidities and they will have a separate vaccination space.
“This is to find out further and ensure that persons with allergies are spared of any adverse reaction from the vaccine, and given this, we also have a certain space where to assign people who, may find discomfort after being vaccinated,” Mayor Agda added.
“As the City Mayor, should something occur adversely, from the vaccine, God forbid, I want to let my people know that they have a City Government that will take care of them,” the Chief Executive assured.
He also shared that in a survey conducted in the locality, majority of Boronganons prefer vaccines from Western countries and set that as a condition for them to participate in the vaccination program.
It was further shared that the vaccines for Borongan City, are expected to arrive third quarter of the year, and in a separate interview over VWTV with Ms. Eden Cidro, Mayor Agda said that a “dry-run” for the vaccination procedures will be done for a month in order to approximate perfection. #
